Our motto is “Healing Mission with a Human Touch” Nirmala Hospital owes it’s beginning, to the compassionate and daring response of the great Italian Jesuit Missionary, Fr. Edward Beretta S. J , who began a small dispensary in August 1937 . Steadily it grew as a pioneer institution in Malabar area, to cater to Filaria, Malaria and Cholera victims in 1940’s.The year 1964 , marks an important milestone, in the history of Nirmala Hospital , when the administration of Nirmala Hospital , was handed over to the Ursuline Sisters of Mary Immaculate, by the then Bishop of Calicut, Rt. Rev. Dr. Aldo Maria Patroni S. J , of revered memories.
